I assume your heading to the North Rim? It's rarely, if ever, full. If it is full, the options for official camping sites are distant. I have stayed in some primitive "hunters camps" pull outs on the road in. If you do that, make sure you're outside of the park boundary.
During peak climbing season, the North Rim campground seems to be increasingly filling up on weekends. If so, there is some camping options just outside the park on BLM lands. I don't think there's anything established but it's possible to pull off on a side road and make a little bivy. Probably want to tread carefully so you don't risk access.
The campground has been getting full over the weekends. If it is full there is plenty of BLM land to camp on out side of the park. It is roughly around 6 miles out side of the park and has a large green gate(that is open) and a BLM sign right behind the gate. If you are driving out of the park towards crawford it will be on your left hand side. And if the campground is full please DO NOT camp in the parking areas or at the overlooks. Thanks.
We are going to seize the Scenic Cruise. Bringing in 1700 feet of static line. We will be occupying the route all weekend, so don't bother to get on it. We plan to show up at the base at 3 am this Saturday morning.
ha ha . . . great climb! The first 5.10 pitch on the Scenic Cruise - something like the fourth pitch or so - might just be the best pitch of 5.10 in Colorado.
