Um... isn't this "Catenary Crack" start? "Jack the Ripper" is a few feet to the left.

Still.. the thing looks grossly wet...."Catenary Crack" is usually slimy even on the most dry days after the longest dry spell.

I was suspicious when I saw the climber doesn't have his hands taped up. Only a masochist would attempt to lead "Jack the Ripper" without tape.

Looks like (based on other photos) that you are correct sir! We didn't have a guidebook, only Steve's apparently faulty memory... Great route anyway, super fun and easily protects (Catanery that is).

"Catenary Crack" looks easier then it is as well. It lures the climber in that way and delivers a bit of a bite. I think all the routes on this wall appear easier then they actually are.

I think Jack the Ripper's grade (10c) would be more appropriate for Catenary Crack.

Well, we assumed what we were on was 10c, and it felt about right. Maybe if it had been a bit drier it would have engendered a little more confidence.
