good one...touche
but if I am not trying to be trolling, yet having fun doing it, and hanging all over a top rope while doing this do I get to put it on my tick list?

I did not know that a good troll prods and then waits for someone to respond. I am saying what I really think about climbing.

I really get cheesed when people claim things that they haven't done, even if the problem is semantics.

JLP what happened to your post where you reminded me I am the big jerk?

OK, Coeus -- we get it. No need for any further input from you on this topic.

What are your climbing goals for 2009, Coeus? Other than telling people how they should use tick lists?

Ron Olson it surprises me that an administrator would be part of the mob, calling people trolls for having an opinion and wanting to see it through. sad

Welcome to Mountain Project, superhero! I see you're new here...or are you just a long-time MPer hiding behind a new alias? Hope you contribute something to the site besides a few forum posts.

What are your climbing goals for 2009, superhero? Leaping tall crags in a single bound?

What Coeus said. I agree.

He’s not getting any support for what I thought was an uncontroversial attitude.
A send is a send.
An incomplete send is working the route- if you intend to get back to it that is.
All styles are good though, “As free as can be” can be totally great- especially on big routes outside your area that are hard for you to get back to. Many of my best climbing days have been on free attempts that didn’t quite work out.
But going back to Coeus’ point- a send is a send.
For some of us, redpointing is the most fun. Succeeding on-sight is gratifying, but solving the multiple difficulties of a harder project with really uncertain outcome is a way cool mental game.

Well, the year's about a quarter over, so here's an update

Scott Bennett wrote:In Eldo: Jules Verne The Evictor The Wisdom Doub-Griffith Also in Colorado: Wunsch's Dihedral D7 Scenic Cruise And in the Valley: Reg NW on Half dome (in a day) The Nose, IAD Astroman Hope it'll be a good year, Scott
Jules Verne-Lene's Dream- OS
Doub-Griffith, led all pitches, OS
The Evictor- worked and worked, still can't do all the moves...
Wunsch's Dihedral, led all pitches clean (including the Breshears, excluding the last pitch bolt ladder)

Going to the valley in May, hopefully get some more done.

Good luck to everyone and their great goals,
