Western Roadie in late July 09: 8 Daze Plan to climb Crazy Peak (highest peak in the Crazies and the "most prominant" peak in Montana via the West Ridge). Then motor down to the Bighorns and "sprint up" Cloud Peak. Will have to be in "hot sh*t shape" and well planned for it to happen, however that is the goal.

Spend more time climbing than I do on MP.com... Spend the majority of my climbing developing routes at my newly discovered local cliff... Climb at least one of the following: 1. Snake Dike 2. Regular NW Face of Half Dome 3. DNB of Middle Cathedral 4. NE Butress of Higher Cathedral Get back in shape so that I can do the above...

Climb as much ice as I can before it disapears or before I disapear in an avalanche trying to get there. Avalanche danger is insane lately, be careful everyone!!! Use your beacon.

Mike Lane, that was hilarious, although really it's not funny at all. I am sorry for laughing. I do feel for you and everyone who is suffering in the current economic down fall, or as Biden called the economy "absolutely tanking.' In 09 I really want to break into the the 5.12 grade trad climbing. And every weekend I spend in Joshua tree the closer I feel to my goal. Unfortunately I wont be back in San Diego till August. So other goals will be doing SOME/ANY climbing during my 3 months of work intensive study in Virginia then the 5 months living aboard a ship, and cruising around south america.... here's to hoping

Keep climbing and hopefully not hurt myself in the process. The key to attaining goals is to set them low enough. ;^P Kathy

So I have been thinking about this for the past day or so. In regards to climbing: I think the most realistic and doable goal that will deff push me is to climb the diamond car to car in a day. Jon EDIT* I will probably need a partner, because I dont think my girlfriend will be up for it yet.

Well, 2008 is going to be hard to beat, now that I'm a new dad, working on a Master's degree and still working. Since I'll be getting out a lot less, I plan to make the days I do get out really count. I'm still training, so when the weather improves, I hope to: - redpoint Freeway - actually try bouldering outside (since it should be convenient with the kid) - spend more time at Petrifying Wall and Chek and aim for new personal best redpoints and onsights (I haven't pushed hard for either in the past, I've been more interested in trad and trying new areas and routes rather than projects) Aside from getting out lots, 2008 was great because I had more fun each day I was out, that's the biggest thing I want to preserve for 2009, the fun.

Start Grad School...only a couple of weeks left to wait. Learn to tele ski and get out and ice climb this winter. Find time to go back to Meridian with Lee. Keep improving on rock and lead some 5.8 and 5.9 trad routes. Take a trip somewhere new. Be a good husband and have some fun!

Get through the winter by taking a class in photography and work on my online business'. Keep my tradition of a Jtree trip in the springtime. Continue with trailwork on Sundays at my home crag. Buy a cheapie car and turn the weekends upstate into 3 and 4 days instead of 2. Continue partnering with new leaders. Go to the Yosemite Facelift again! And here's the big one....get the hell OUT of this godforsaken cold next winter season. Saving money to hopefully sublet this place from November through March. Anyone who might be interested in spending a winter in NYC, let me know. It will be a sweet deal for the right person.
