30 pieces my A! Everyone knows you photoshopped those in there... Then you pay me back in April by getting my #12 stopper stuck in the middle of the crux... And about the crux move, that one move is definately more technical than anything on the Daddy next door.
So all these routes (Linville Gorge) say standard NC rack. I am a CT and CO climber and just moved to TN. I am wondering if ya'll had any advice on what gear to bring. Ill be at Shortoff and the Amph. for a weekend of climbing. I dont mind carrieng gear in but If i dont need doubles up to 3" I dont want to carry it! I was going to bring a set of Tricams to 2.5 TCU's and one set of BD's to 3". I have no hex's. Do you think that will be adequate? Im a pretty solid leader and tend to run things out but I have never been before and dont want to be caught off guard. Thanks!
Hey Nick, haven't climbed at shortoff yet but have climbed several times in the amphitheater. A full set of nuts, tri cams, and a single set of cams to 3" works fine for me for the mummy, daddy, and the prow. I try to go as light as possible and have never had a problem with not having enough pieces. Also bring plenty of single and double runners you'll definately use them. Shortoff may be a different story though for the size of your rack. I still have never needed anything bigger than 3.5 in linville gorge. I recomend hopping on the North Ridge of Table Rock while your there, its a great warm up with an interesting 1st pitch and wicked exposure, bring a few bigger pieces for it
