Oh God, so true, memory still painfully clear. Hours spent on steep, loose sand with perched blocks all around us... Contact can be a nightmare if you don't know where to thread the needle and you can't see, as was the case for us after this pic.

I thought it was rough during the day. Or morning rather. We chose to shiver-bivy over descending in the dark. Wish I would've brought a puffy!
