That's not a Western Diamondback, it is a Prairie Rattler. Note splots, not diamonds, on its back.

Western Diamondback. He was very comfortable in the middle of the trail.
The snake was moved twice and both times ended up right back in the middle of the trail. No rattle, even when we moved him w stick.
