Attention Treehuggers: How do I recycle old ropes?
|
I have a bunch of old ropes that I'm finally emotionally ready to say goodbye to. What's the most environmentally responsible way to get them out of my basement? |
|
I made some kickass rugs with mine and gave em away for christmas. The spiral style takes roughly 5 minutes per rope. |

Sterling has a rope recycling program. More info herehttp://www.mountainproject.com/v/maine/105989626?highlightphrase=sterling+rope+recycling& |

perhaps you could donate it to the nearest Boy-Scout Troop for their knot tying classes & demos nice horses AZ ~:) |

I've sold a few on craigslist for 25 each. Just make sure to let them know its not for live load situations due to age. Thats a chunk towards your new one. |

The story is 100% true. I cut the line in 1/2 and I'll sell the other 1/2 in a different weave soon. |

For those living in the Colorado Front Range area, the Boulder Rock Club acts as a collection point for the Sterling Rope recycling program. I just dropped off 25 years worth of old ropes to them. |

In Tonsai, they use old ropes for v-threads and anchors. If you happen to be going or know someone who is... |
