I've seen it done two ways Chris. The first is the way you are trying it. For the next move match hands and punch up and right to the dish and you'll be good to go. I couldn't get it to go that way. My buddy did though and found it easier than my way.

I use a small sloper/pocket with my left hand and cross through with my right to the good edge. There is a key small left foot hold that you need to use. Be careful with it though, it's really really sharp and tore a hole through the rubber of my friend's shoe.

No surprise that I had the beta all messed up. That perhaps could be why it took me more than a year to get it, like 5-10 times as many tries as any other V7 I've done!
