These points will only get you a pass to the "Bolt/No Bolt" forum, enter at your own risk, the life you save may be yours (if the bolts haven't been chopped(guess I just got some negative points from guideline #1))

Is that why I went from 222 points down to 61? :)

How about if the top contributors list was computed only over your favorite areas? Then each person would have a different list of top contributors and probably most of the people you would know. This might also end all controversy as there would be no single "top contributor", or at least no fixed list of top contributors.

Even if this is not done it might be interesting to see who had contributed most to a particular area.

It is kind of a bummer to make a huge effort to type in a lengthy description of some 18-pitch route, and then notice that in the same time somebody else has entered 20 sport routes. But who cares, any system will have problems like this.

Your dog photos have more "great" ratings than most peoples climbing photos.

I think you went down in points for the same reason that I did - the MAN is pushing us down!! The MAN!

Do people here really care about points? I'm not a "high end user" but I don't know or care about someone's point score for anything. I just care that the descriptions are accurate, and I guess this "new system" will support that if . . . . if what? you click on the contributer and see how many points they have as a way to assesss their judgement/skill/familiarity with describing an area? Is it just me or does that not seems like a few extra clicks I rarely have time for? Puhlease . . . of course I'm dense and slow, so I could be missing something highly useful here?

paz y amor

Wayne, what are you nutz? Its all about the points! Until I unseat Blitzo, I will devote every free minute to accumulating points on MP.com. Get with it or choke in the humongous dust cloud I am creating!! Hahahaha! HAHAHAHA!

(is that how you spell humongous?)

Deaun, my dogs logged into my account and rated a bunch of your photos as "Great". They're trying to help bring you back up in the point ranking.

Kateri, thanks. I am going outside right now to take a bunch of new photos of me climbing trees, buildering, mowing the lawn, drinking beer, etc. Maybe your dogs could sneak back on in a few days and help me back to my former place of glory?

If I killed and ate Blitzo's still beating heart, would my points go up?

Oh, Kateri, I love your dog photos! Well, my points went down just because of my possessed "Baby Gigi In Trash Can" photo that I posted awhile back, and deleted. My points have been going down ever since.

Only if you did it at 88 miles per hour...

Yeah, it's all Blitzo's fault.

At least Kateri appreciated my poor quality "Desert Driving" profile pic. But no one liked my Satanic piggy bank I made in 6th grade.

That's it, I'm going to go back to people watching with my non-climbing friends on the strip, at least they consider me a top contributer.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
