Doug Scott under Middle Cathedral. A man who really networked climbers from this era. He knew everyone from the California guys to the hillbilly's (me) in Colorado Springs to the ice climbers in North Conway. Everyone stopped by Doug's blue house for one reason or another.

When I first met Doug, he was kind of a geeky dull end of the rope like me. He worked hard at it and became a badass climber while remaining a nice personable guy. I remained the geeky dull end of the rope. Great guy!!!

No kidding Scott. He was after all with Rosholt on the first ascent of
"The Plunge." He caught the namesake fall! He was great guy and really was nice to this one time 17 year old kid.

Thanks Phil,
Let's just say I could lead 5.8+ (old school), follow 5.10 (new school), and BELAY 5.12+ (which I did quite a bit of):-) Let's hear it for the unsung hero, the ultimate voyeur, the Badass Belayer!!
