On the first ascent of Mt. Clarence King's NE Ridge (first attempt). There is still over a mile of technical climbing ahead. That day we retreated shortly after the large tower on the right and spent four hours descending a loose and treacherous face to get back to our camp. We came back two weeks later and finished the job.
