These routes all have personal significance and/or I've been wanting to get on 'em for some time. They'll require a good amount of driving, some serious shoulder rehab, and a few more cams on my rack: 1. Tribal Boundaries, City of Rocks 2. High Exposure, Gunks 3. Oz, Tuolumne Meadows 4. Dream of Wild Turkeys, Red Rocks 5. Thin Ice, The Needles 6. Stradivarius, Owens River Gorge 7. Central Pillar of Frenzy, Yosemite Valley 8. Death and Transfiguration, The Flatirons 9. Corrugation Corner, Lovers Leap 10. The Naked Edge, Eldorado Canyon Anyone else already thinking about next year's climbs?

For ten climb, I'll do Vead routes; then quit all-together, cause I figure that'll be the hardest I'll ever climb & just bag it while I'm on top. (I'm going with a pair of Wranglers, too!)

Wow, all this got me thinking... I've only done 9 of the 50 or so routes that are listed above. And I didn't have a tick list like that. My first thought was that a lot of those are life-time ticks. Like "Tricks Of the Tramp," something I've been wanting to do since the route was 'opened' about what, 15-20 years ago? Anyway, yeah, where has my ambition gone. Seems like this year my goal is just to get back to Eldo and start climbing hard. WHich got me thinking about my own modest list. Mostly just routes I hav3e not done before but will require some effort and commitment. Dubious Graffiti (Redgarden) The Throne (Shirt Tail) Bachar Yer Aryan (Rincon) Brand New Cadilac & (Cadilac Crag) Flash Cadilac (Cadilac Crag) Priman Scream (Continental) Lifestream (Mickey Mouse) Beagles Ear (Mickey Mouse) Vergin On Perversion (Mickey Mouse) Simions Way (Mickey Mouse) I'll be lucky if I get around to doing 4 of them. I spend most of my time on 'Blue runs' these days.

Most of mine do not exist yet because they are gym routes. I do however have my eye on a few routes at red rock canyon in Colo. Spgs. and a few sport routes in boulder canyon. I've had my years when it's important what I accomplished, but those seem a long time ago. Now it's golf! p.s. Matt: Kirk's corner is on Squat Rock which is closed. It's a pretty good climb for the area, but probably not worthy to be on your list. Maybe replace it with Long John Wall in eldo. Have fun!

I've only been climbing for a year, doing routes on gear for the last couple of months, so my list will seem pale next to those posted above. But for me, it contains dreams of fun and skill building that will hopefully let me build a more impressive list for 2009! In no particular order: 1: Overhang Bypass - Joshua Tree, CA 2: Cat in the Hat - Red Rock, NV 3: Dark Shadows - Red Rock, NV 4: Bear's Reach - Lover's Leap, CA 5: Charlotte Dome, South Face - High Sierra, CA 6: Zoroaster Temple, NE Arete - Grand Canyon, AZ 7: A week in Bishop, CA 8: Aiguille de Joshua Tree - Joshua Tree, CA (Don't tell my wife!) 9: Feltonian Physics - Joshua Tree, CA 10: Walk On The Wild Side - Joshua Tree, CA

1.Warbonnet Ridge, Chiefshead 2.Casual Route, Black Canyon 3.Central Ramp, Mount Alice 4.2d attempt at Hiamovi Tower, Indian Peaks 5.Martha's Couloir, Mt. Lady Washington 6.The Flying Dutchman, Longs 7.S.E. Face, Taylor Peak 8.Center Thumb, Wasatch Range, UT 9.Rawlpindi, Red Rocks, NV 10. Birdland (need to finish last pitches), Red Rocks, NV Wow. It's really hard to narrow this down to just 10. There is a bunch of stuff in Eldo, the desert and even sporto routes in BC that I want to do. If I were to add peaks and slot canyons this list could literally go on for a very long time. :-)

Comic Relief - Black Canyon 9. Steck - Salathe - Yosemite 10. Death and Transfiguration - Boulder This may be a ten year list. And unless I can figure out how to loose 25lbs., I'll probably be taking the lead on the easier pitches on many of them. If I get two this year I'll call it good.

I'm going to honor all those who perished in the past on this thing and send it once and for all after 20 years.
After that, the rest of the year will be gravy.

I like lists, it gives me something to think about. I actually have a decent shot (and the time off) to do most of these! In no particular order: Mt. Slesse (Cacsades BC, my 2nd time, it is that good) Pigeon Spire (Bugaboos) Epinephrine (RR NV) Tick fever (LCC UT) Bloody Fingers (COR ID, never have led it) Honeymoon Chimney (Castle Valley UT) Primrose Dihedrals (Canyonlands UT) Fishhook Arete (Mt Russell CA, if I don't go to BC) Cathedral Group Traverse (GTNP WY) Black Monday (BCC UT) Grand Wall (Squamish BC)
Cheers!
