When I try to explain rock climbing to non climbers I always get the same questions and comments; “You’re insane, that what Tom Cruise did, you must have a death wish” etc. <br /> <br />Nothing could be farther from the truth of course. <br />I could drone on for hours about what I personally get from rock climbing but this image sums it up much better; about 250 feet above the car and with the cell phone turned off, I’m sitting out in the warm sunshine of a late November afternoon enjoying a snack without a care in the world. <br /> <br />This is why I rock climb. Curtis S. at the base of Fly From Soup to Nuts 5.9+, Moderate Mecca, Red Rocks. <br />After getting cocky on his first trad lead on Chicken Gumbo 5.6 I put him on something a bit more substantial. <br />Neither of us could pull the hard 5.9 this day however. Wah. <br /> <br />A heavily tweaked 9 frame HDR from the Canon powershot G9 running the CHDK crack.
