The snow bank at the base can cover up to 60 ft of the first pitch of the NW Face, even late in the Spring.

Back in '74, my brother took a long, scary slide down the snow bank into the rocks below when checking out the start of the Regular route. Almost blew our ascent chances before we even got off the ground...
