Description

Prescott is the epicenter of some of the finest bouldering to be had in Arizona. Small areas surround the city and because of elevation differences chances are you can find a place with good weather despite bad weather in the area. Wether its granite slopers, basalt pockets, or quartzite crimps, chances are you will find whole areas that will leave you satisfied... For a while.

Bill Cramer I believe will be putting out a new bouldering guide as of 2007 sometime. I am adding this spot for highlights, recomended lines, pics and what not.

Setting up for the crux of The Moonstone

Moonstone V6  AZ : Prescott Area Bouldering : ... : Main Boulders
Steep! Sit-down start at the obvious jug underneath the boulder on the right side, near the edge of the drop. Steep but positive pulls out the overhang until your feet cut loose, then a dynamic move up to a crescent incut near the lip. Slap the dish over the lip and then don't come off the finishing jugs and you are there. One of the best problems Groom has to offer.PLEASE CLEAN YOUR TICK MARKS OR DON'T USE THEM AT ALL!...[more]   Browse More Classics in AZ
