If you buy one climbing magazine this year, check out Alpinist issue no 18. Dean Potter is on the cover soloing with Half Dome in the background. The highlight of the mag is the feature on "The Bird" aka Jim Bridwell.

If you are a member of the Access Fund you can get 20% discount.

Alpinist

Disclaimer: I don't have any involvement with Alpinist. I just think it's a great mag and I want them to stay above water.

Alright I love this mag especially the latest edition. Being a Marine I really enjoyed the article about the Corp in Afghanistan. And there was even a picture of 2 VW buses. Heck yeah man....

I just subscribed this past weekend, and with the Access Fund membership and signing up for more than 1 yr I got 3yrs for $46. Thats a great price for a excellent mag! Not to mention access to their website too, where I watched an INSANE base jumping movie!

You all are forgetting to mention the article on two Boulder climbers who are pushing the limits of Trad climbing as far as new school difficulty, while combining old school ethics. From the Ground UP!!! It is always nice to see some local fellers. Not to mention this is the finest climbing magazine, low ads, thought provoking stories of real adventure, and 100% GREEN (thanks to help from Patagonia)!!!
