Photo search and route database

I like the photo search. I like the fact that I can select a state, area, sub-section etc. and query photos.

My comment is that it would be nice to be able to display photos that are older than 1 year. Currently if I were looking at photos from for example, Indian Creek, I can only look at photos posted

Within Last > 30 days | 3 months | 6 months | 1 year

It would be nice to have an 'all' option.

The other related issue is that it would be nice to be able to move smoothly from the route database to its related photo database.

Going back to Indian Creek as an example…If I were looking at the overview for the 'Scarface Wall' in the routes database, there is 1 photo, which is an overview photo. It would be nice to have a link to be brought to that sub-section (Scarface Wall) in the photo search. Then I could easily look at all the route photos submitted for that wall.

Other than that I really like the site. Keep up the good work, and thanks for reading....

Tom -

One of the items on the todo list is a "see all photos in this area" page, including slideshow option.

This sounds like the feature you're describing.

Thanks for suggesting it, hopefully we'll get it done within a month or so.

Wondering if this is still going to happen.

I'd still like to see all photos submitted for an area, not just the photos submitted within the last year.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Tom

Yes, I still want it to happen. Just haven't gotten to it yet. Thanks for reminding me.

I just looked at the photo page under what's new and noticed that on a majority of thumbnails you don't know what you are looking at. Since the descriptive text does not say, and the path is no longer there. Most of them, if I was not already familiar from climbing in all of these areas, I wouldn't even know what state they were shot in.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
