I find the talus to be really solid until you get right near the base.

If you look carefully, there is a well traveled and solid path through this treacherous and seemingly interminable talus field.

If you think the length is "interminable", you really need to beef up your talus resume a bit more.

Aerili...After thirty-one marathons, eight R2R2R runs in the Grand Canyon, and the approach to Mendel Couloir via Lamarck Col, I think I have a handle on "interminable."
