Hey all, New to the area and am looking for a guide book for Colorado in general.

Which would you recommend and why??

Thanks for the info...

Check out Rock Climbing Colorado by Stewart M. Green. It's the only guidebook that covers the entire state. It's a bit out of date (published in 1995) and describes a small number of classic routes in each area.

Check out Best of Boulder Climbs by Richard Rossiter for an overview of the Boulder area. It's also a bit out of date, but covers the Boulder-area classics.

See Books on Colorado for other Colorado guidebooks.

A book???

I don't think there can be just one, currently my bookshelf has 17 books for Colorado.

Considering your location look to start your collection with Boulder Climbs South by Richard Rossiter the topo drawings are amazingly accurate considering when they were first drawn. And South Platte Rock Climbing by Hubbel & Rolofson, I don't believe this is in print anymore and there are some access issues the book does not discuss. You should be able to find a used copy online.

Since your in Morrison here's a good website for bouldering so you can get a feel of the rock in your new home.
Have fun.
