I don't much care for the Federal Government but if I had my way you'd be put away for jumping into a protected alpine lake. This little swimming pool of yours is protected by the Wilderness Act of 1964. Do you read signs at trailheads? It's a criminal act to jump into a very very fragile lake. Hopefully you might think about the money and potential jail time the next time you do this.

Put away? Jail time? Cmon Abbey, ease up a bit. The punishment doesn't seem to match the crime, especially since we didn't see any signs prohibiting this.
The jump I've done into Gross Reservoir above Boulder is a different story with signs on the actual rock, all of every parking lot and a ranger on full-time duty during the summer to watch for jumpers. Jumped into that one anyways and talked my way out of a ticket.
I doubt a couple of young men jumping into this fragile lake is going to destroy it. I didn't even pee in it, too cold! And unless I see something there next time, I probably will not think about any consequences beyond my friends and my safety. Thanks for your concern, but no thanks.

Shame on you for having fun at no one's expense.

I try so hard not to post on MP but every now and then I can't resist. Seriously, a very fragile lake? What is he going to do to this fragile lake by swimming a little bit?? What's the point of a beautiful lake if we can't enjoy it??? It's good to see some people (Ryan) can let loose and enjoy this beautiful life.

I don't agree that the Wilderness Act makes it illegal to jump into alpine lakes. Though there may be a Boulder watershed issue with this particular lake.

In any case, Abbey, you come across as a fairly unlikable guy.
