Celebrate rock climbing at Eldorado Canyon State Park at the annual Celebrate Eldorado
Celebrate Eldorado, a community event commemorating rock climbing at Eldorado Canyon State Park , will kick off with a party at the Boulder Rock Club on Sept. 14th. Celebrate Eldorado events take place throughout the day at Eldorado Canyon State Park on Sept. 16th. All programs are free with a daily or annual parks pass. Events include:
·Kick-Off Party, Sept. 14th, 7 p.m. at the Boulder Rock Club. Food, drinks, giveaways, bouldering events and more. $5 suggested minimum donation.
Celebrate Eldorado September 16th 8:30am – 4:00pm at Eldorado Canyon State Park :
· 8:30 a.m. , Rattlesnake Ramble Four-Mile Trail Race. Participants must pre-register at www.aceeldo.org
· 10 a.m. to 2 p.m , Trail Work and Chalk Clean-up. Participants must pre-register by calling 303-494-3943.
· 10 a.m. to 12 p.m , Self-Rescue Clinic for Experienced Climbers. ! Participants must pre-register by calling 303-494-3943.
· 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. , Climbers’ Day Care - Jr. Ranger Rock Detectives. For children ages 6-12. Space is Limited—Meet at the Visitor Center .
·11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Raptor Presentation by HawkQuest - 11:30-12pm—Jr. Rangers meet the raptors, 12-1pm—Public Presentation, 1-1:30pm—Drop by to see the birds of prey - Located in the North Picnic Area
· 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. —Introduction to Rock Climbing Clinic for Anyone - Participants must pre-register by calling 303-494-3943. Maximum of 12 participants.
· 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. —Climbers’ Day Care -Young Naturalist Adventure for children ages 6-12. Space is limited, meet at the Visitor Center .
· 1:00 - 3:00pm - There will be a Climbing Rescue Demonstration and Show with Rocky Mountain Rescue and the Rocky Mountain Fire Authority located at the footbridge.
· 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. —Eldorado Resort Era Slideshow. Space is limited, meet at the Visitor Center Conference Room.
·On-going activities include viewing and voting for the 4th Annual Photography contest, located at the Visitor Center and drawing! s to win a 2007 Colorado State Parks Annual Pass.
