1 man tent suggestions?

I'm looking to buy a 3-4 season 1 man tent and am hoping someone has some awesome recommendations. I'll be using it all year round and don't necessarily want to spend more than $300, but also want a tent that's durable and comfortable enough to spend 4-5 days at a time in. I've been looking at MSR, North Face, Integral Designs (on the expensive side) and Black Diamond mainly. Any suggestions?

I have this Nemo Tent and love it.

I have a Bipod Bivy from BD and love it. Weathered many storms with it, each time coming out dry and feeling like a champ while my friends in lesser tents have suffered. It is a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion.

The Hooped Bivy from BD didn't work for me. I found myself constantly adjusting the wire all night. A real tent pole works much better.

I'm embarrassed to admit but I'm a mosquito sissy so for trips to mosquito heavy areas, I've been using a Bug Hut from REI . Weights 18 oz (if you leave behind the stakes), costs 50 bucks and works even when there aren't any trees to hang netting or a tarp.

Hope this helps.

I have a Marmot Limelight (2P)... awesome tent! Quick to set up, resists both drenching rain and snow. Very light at 5lbs for the amount of floorspace and versatility (32 sq ft +9 sq ft vestibule). Retails for 189 bucks.

You should take up hammock camping instead. Its lighter and far more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. You could easily set yourself up for less than $300.

If you can find one (discontinued) the BD One Shot is suhweet. Room for you and gear, is tall enough to sit up in, single wall, full side door and meshed window, 2lbs 4 ozs.

I am going to get the MSR Skinnyone soon and at $150 it seems like a good deal and 3 pounds is pretty good.

The best one man tents are two man tents.

Since you didn't state specifically that you need this for long approaches, alpine, backpacking, I'll assume that it is for general use. Climbers use their tents for car/short approach camping most of the time. The extra space is uber sweet. And...when you're far away from the car, you'll be glad you have more space to stash your gear out of the weather.

Just my 2 cents.

Im going to have to agree w Evan 1984 on this one

Ive owned a Black diamond tripod bivy and several other single tents/
bivis the best bang for your buck is a two person tent esp if you like to have some space while waiting out multi day storms.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
