I've got lots of issues...of Climbing and Rock and Ice magazines that is...cleaning out the garage and need to get rid of the collection. Free to pick up (South Boulder) but must take all of them. No shipping.

Here are the ones I have. Climbing:161-315; R&I:73-211, missing a few here and there of each. Basically spanning from ~1996-near present.

PM for phone/directions. Flexible on timing during the week.

College student....feeling at home on this thread. Im quite "light pocketed" but really getting into the trad scene aka trad gear needed! Would also really like any base/middle layer (size medium/large), size 10ish shoes, and would LOVE any old guide books floating around out there.

PM me if you could relate at one time in your life and want to give back ;) hopefully one day I'll be able to pass it on.

1st.. We all agree that a gear thief is the lowest form of human life.
2nd.. So sorry for your loss.
3rd.. Have you tried renters insurance/home owners insurance, even your auto coverage might help.
4th.. Get a job. Wash dishes, sell your blood at the plasma center, and even work at a day care. Money works great when trying to get more gear.
5th.. Look around at the base of Big Walls. I've found and dropped enough gear for two racks.
6th.. Ever consider prostitution? Sure STD's are a bummer, but imagine how fast your gear stash will grow. You'll have forgotten about the cigarette burns, when your forearms are burning with the pump. Yea, bite mark scars are a drag, but scarification is growing in popularity among the younger crowd.I know prostitution is inherently dangerous and any person is personally responsible for learning the proper techniques and good judgment. We strongly recommend that every climber-prostitute seek instruction by a qualified professional. You are responsible for knowing and respecting your capabilities and limitations. Always know the maintenance and use history of your equipment give away gear over the internet to prevent future use. The use of secondhand equipment is a strong possibility. Failure to follow these warnings can result in severe injury or death.
7th.. I've got some old biners and a few nuts I'll mail you. Pm sent.

to clarify, got several PMs. Happy to send the biners and harness to someone who otherwise couldn't add the gear. Meant to offer to the person in the recent posts but am open to anyone who isn't likely to be able to buy the gear by next season. OldManRiver

in case someone has some old nuts, biners, cams or whatever laying around

I can give you:
(a) a bunch of old wired nuts
(b) some tri-cams (the Gunks staple)
(c) a few rigid friends
(d) an "extreme" collection of biners (ovals and Ds)
(e) a bunch of ball-nuts/sliders
(f) a set of those questionable "Gear for Rocks" cams *

  • initially bought them to use as possible leave-behind anchors initially. Ended-up leading with them - I've taken some falls on them in the Dolomites and they hold, but they are butt-ugly.

PS. People that wrote me mail re jackets/shoes/boots - if you want me to send you the jackets or the shoes, I would need your address or some sort of shipping arrangements.

PPS. Could this be some sort of PM problem - I just realized that I've never heard back from a few other people I've sent messages to.

GONE as of 11/4/13

Free to any climber , preferably a youngster looking to get a rack going and get into traditional climbing . A small set of stoppers , an old QD , a belay device , some slingage and dog bones , a cam with a busted lobe wire, and two 3 foot slings perfect for setting up TR anchors. Most of the gear was bootied from years of climbing , but some of it I bought new and never used.

Hey guys,
I recently moved to NYC and would love to get into trad, being so close to the Gunks. If anyone's willing to part with any gear, I would be eternally grateful/willing to belay if we ever cross paths. I am of course willing to pay for shipping.
