Comments: Thanks. I was afraid of that. It'd be some sweet sweet action to be able to put more routes in Box.

Comments: Love the name but just curious, is it now OK to add new routes to Box Canyon?

Comments: 1st pitch can be easily TRed from Firefly anchors and is good entertainment on the way down. Didn't lead it, but 5.9 seemed a bit sandbagged--on lead anyway. I'll give it 9+.

Good pitch. Classic BCC: Foot holds appear right when you need them, but just barely...

Comments: 3 stars for the grade. Can't think of many 5.6's in BCC that have this kind of exposure. Only did the 1st pitch, but used micros to #1 camalot.

Comments: Yup, but the draw does keep the rope out of the crack. That's important for the modern gumby.

Comments: Led this today; took my little girl out for some fun.

If you don't clip any nearby bolts this route is full-on R. There was a 40' section that wouldn't take any gear at all--well maybe, just maybe a really bad #1 RP, of which I didn't bother.

That said, it's easy to clip a couple nearby bolts with a long runner, or just run it out as it's EZ.

Comments: It's an obscure Far Side comic. Caption reads, "The vet let me keep them. They're my testicles."

It's generally how I feel about my leading abilities.

Comments: In case you were wondering, Boissal isn't the only one annoyed with your spamming. If your guide has better photos/topos, then put them on here. We don't want to know about your "guide".

Comments: Gather 'round kids fo story time.

All info we could garner about Barking Spiders was vague at best. BS was simply labeled 5.8X *, with info such as "Climb the runout slab just left of a row of trees growing in a crack..."(Ruckman's) and "Start left of bushes growing in a crack...unprotectable until you are near the top. A fall would likely be fatal."(MP). And the topos were pretty useless as well.

Looking at the slab, we surmised that BS was RIGHT of the blunt arete (just left of the row of... more >>

Comments: Or better yet, you can lead it thinking it's Good Times since you can't read a guide book. If you do this expect no pro until ~30 feet up and then a bomber #1 camalot AFTER the 5.8 crux which is a high step smear from crimpers. Der.

Also I found humor in your opinion that City routes are sandbagged. I've always thought the opposite.
