Comments: Ahh, you are right. They linked the entire route in only 2 pitches so I kinda lost track of where the actual pitches started and ended.
Thanks!

Comments: Update on the approach.

You can still rap in from the anchors of the Flakes...

but today we managed to scramble our way up a few ledges and tiers until we were somewhat below and right of Wild Things. Some more scrambling and then we decided to rope up while we were at a decent sized tree with lots of tat. From there it was 5.something (I had a pack and approach shoes on...) to the alcove where Wild Things starts. I was glad to have a rope.

But that will get you there maybe somewhat faster... more >>

Comments: Please DO NOT set up a Tyrolean. I don't want to see the same affects from the Slips in BCC end up here in Little Cottonwood.
Let the river run its course and in the meantime talk with the landowners and the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance to get an organized and community-driven consensus on a new plan.

Should clean up with a few ascents.

Comments: The Needle's Eye variation is the squeeze chimney that tunnels back and behind the roof. We had firsthand word from the Smoot's that they (and others) never went straight out the roof and had no idea how hard it was.

We didn't even know if it would be 5.8 or 5.11 until we got up the thing. Without big cams and with a steep OW looking right at you, I don't blame them for not considering it!
