Comments: So funny Andy. I was trying to look for photos of the beginning moves. It is the single hardest part of this route - nearly impossible to me right now. I feel like I just can't reach but I just have no excuse! ;)

Comments: Excellent route. Crimpy and tight eyebrow cuts seems like it'd be 11b for those with larger fingers. Thanks to Tony and Terri :)

Comments: I agree with the above comment (Mr Snrub); hardest move was on p3: short, splitter finger crack with polished a 10-foot, 5.9 move. I used mostly nuts, this route is great for them. Didn't use the 1" at all....the small sizes came in handy as did the larger ones for the last anchor. Amazing climb and fun moves; great overall rock quality but lots of loose pieces up higher. While pulling the rope at the 2nd or 3rd rappel, hand-sized chunks flew off and we were... more >>

Comments: Jeff, you might be thinking of this accident where the leader had a ground fall at the China Wall. He's lucky to be alive and well, it seems from the forum link:

I was originally posting to warn folks headed to the Central Gorge (in the warmer/hot months) to be aware of the rattlesnakes that live underneath the "steps" and crevices while heading down the gully from the lot. You don't always he... more >>

Comments: One of the best 10a's I've ever climbed, thanks Kelly. Quite an adventure with the slab, liebacking, crimps/edges, traversing, crack, jugs, high stepping, mantling....used almost all on this route. And love that it's long. Bring an extendable to prevent rope drag on the 5th or so bolt.

Comments: Such a great route - one of my favorites here in BVC. Climbed in June and made the mistake of getting there too early (12:30 noonish). p1 was in the shade but didn't see over the first belay ledge from the base of the climb to notice that the crux pitch was full-on sun and still sunny by 1pm and later. Had a single rack to 3, doubles on .75-2 and blue and purple TCU's. Partner did a great job leading p1-2....p2 had 3 bolts and felt harder than 5.10 with its delicate, crimpy and slabby moves.... more >>

Comments: Great climb at the start of a cold day...I just wanted to warm though: I got stung up pretty nicely by a swarm of yellow jackets that my partner accidentally riled up in the brush as we were hiking off. It was where you hike up an obvious trail right after topping out and it parts faintly to the left or right. We took the left - which included passing through the brush that the hornets reside in. Additionally, later I learned of a girl that was stung up two weeks ago on the same hike off aft... more >>
