Comments: Some cool moves on this route. You definitely have to use both sides of the arete. If it were a little longer, I'd probably give it another star.

Comments: Solid climb. The crux for me came around/just past the 4th bolt. Make sure to dance around the two loose blocks marked with Xs near the top.

Comments: One of the very best 5.8s in the canyon. Agree that it looks a lot harder than it is.

Comments: Excellent route. Definitely worth doing the entire climb if you're looking to hit Dark Shadows anyway. Besides, this is one of the rare climbs in RR that allows you to top something out, giving it a little more of that alpine feel.

Some quick beta that I have yet to see mentioned: you've actually got another 200-300 feet of climbing when you get to the top of pitch 10. None of it is hard, but we roped up and placed a couple pieces of gear here and there. Added another hour or so to the climb. J... more >>

Comments: The crimps down low definitely felt harder than 11a to me. It's splitting hairs, but I'd go with 11b which is consistent with the D'Antonio guidebook. I think all the grievances listed above are fair, but I really like this route.

Comments: This route is the best of a series of great moderate single pitch trad lines. Romper Room is a solid area to check out if you're looking for a more low key afternoon. Plus you've got Lotta Balls wall nearby for some bigger moderates. Routes get sun mid-day, but move into the shade in the mid- to late afternoon. Agree that this is better than Doobie Dance, but both are worth hitting.

Comments: Incredible route. Definitely some flexy flakes on this so proceed with caution.
