Comments: Fantastic stone, one of my favorite boulders of all time! That's probably because a few friends and I put up all the routes on it back in 2005!

just for reference, here's a link to rockclimbing . com where I documented (almost) all of our activity:

I'm "Superbum," AKA: Victor Lawson.

Just feeling nostalgic this morning and decided to look up my old haunt. Anyone coming to Bishop to climb, look me up!

Comments: Yes, SW facing is correct, so it's in the shade in the morning. The upper pitches are in some left facing corner systems at times so it holds shade in places. It only gets shade in the afternoon once the sun dips below the other rim of the canyon...

GO DO IT!

:)

Comments: I would venture to say the first pitch is easier than the second by a grade at least, maybe two? Overall a fun "adventure sport" climb.

Comments: a 60m will work if you head left to a ramp/ledge system at the base of Squeeze my Lemon. easy 3rd class downclimb from here.

Comments: Update! Bolted anchors now up on top of Squeeze my Lemon! No need to go to the tree anymore, one rope gets you down w/ two raps (rap to When the Levee Breaks anchor). I'm pretty sure a 60m would work...it sure seemed like there was enuf tail left in my 70, but i'm not CERTAIN....a 60m deff. works when rapping When the Levee Breaks if you head left to the scrambly ledges at the base of Squeeze my Lemon.

Comments: The short approach to this tidy little big route means there is no reason NOT to climb it! A great quick multipitch with some very interesting rock features (check out the crazy horizontal black ripples on the last pitch!) and great rock quality. Good place to go to be alone with your honey snookums, brother from another mother, or sister from another mister.

Can link pitches 1 and 2 w/ a 70m...I wouldn't link 3 and 4 tho, the first move of P4 is, uh, interesting....

Comments: In my opinion, the best pitch on the buttress (so far...) The rock might be better on other pitches, but the actual climbing and exposure outmatch everything else on in the 3 Hour Arete family.

Comments: It all began with an urge...and a sick looking maw...
Scrambled up to the base...started up the route proper w/o even a helmet OR nut-tool...got in that black smooth chimney and decided I didn't want to hit the ground if I slid out of it's dusty clutches...
So, I wedged myself in the chimney, best I could and went off belay while Shadow went and got the drill...in went a bolt, then after lowering the drill back down, off I went into the squeeze, and up and up to a sick belay on a giant chocksto... more >>

Comments: Just did this thing again today w/ my good friend Cullen. He thought an overall of 5.11- was good, and the sometimes inobvious placements made things feel a tad harder, so keep your eyes open, and find the good gear! A double rack will help...

We got rained on while at the hanging belay after the 6th pitch. Whooo. Slippery.
