Comments: Lets not turn sinks into a drive through retail outlet. The canyon seems to be doing just fine as for campsites and "improvements".

Comments: I believe this is the route Casey and I bolted back in the early '90s (1993 I believe), and we called "Coronas and Lime". Craig mistakenly FA'd, because we did not know to Red Tag at the time. At the time, the Palace name did not exist and only a few routes were down on the wall with the mine shaft. Rob Poutre and Ron Ambrose were putting in lines in the canyon as well as other locals.

Comments: I'm a little behind the times on this. Morkel is right though; we called this route: "Better than Watching TV" and rated it .11+. We bolted this (Casey and I) together, and it was our first route. Casey did more of the work if I recall correctly. We used a #3 Camalot in the pod on the second pitch to protect that section. I would not be offended at all if the anchors were updated or sections cleaned more as this again was our first route. I would love to get back there and ... more >>

Comments: Casey Rosenbach and I put up a route off to the right of "Fantastic" back in the early '90s. Not sure of exact location in relation to all the new routes. At the time, I think the entire wall had only about 3 other routes. Anyways..."Better than Watching Television" .11+, bolts and a #3 Camalot up in a pod. I have not been back since about 1993. Cameron contacted me a few years back when he put out the new guide, and I hope the name stayed. We also did some of the original bolting at... more >>

John Byrnes is an active climber and spends months on the island each year. He also rents out rooms. He leads the charge each year with retro bolting efforts as well.

Comments: Climbers,
Please park straight in and close to other cars in all parking lots, especially the main parking lot. Sinks season is here and poor parking really creates problems for all climbers. Ideally we should fit about 13 vehicles in the main parking lot.

Comments: Climbers,
Sinks Canyon lies on three different land agencies: State Park, BLM and Forest Service.
The State Park land is roughly from the Camel Jockey wall to the Stud Alert wall. State Park regulations state that dogs be on a leash. Do not let your dog(s)run wild! The State Park has posted a sign on the Killer Cave trail asking for the same. The State Park is concerned with unsupervised pets harassing climbers and wildlife; we also need to avoid shortcutting of trails and "b... more >>
