Comments: Great route on superb rock but only unless you want to spend half the day in a hike/thrash-fest through stinging ant and sticker-bush infested boulder jungle.

Comments: An excellent JT classic and a very smooth lead. One to do again and again.Superb location. There's a photo in the old Wolfe/Dominick guidebook of someone climbing Headstone in tennis shoes in the 1950s.The FA of this formation was apparently accomplished by throwing a rope over the top and batmaning up.

Comments: I've led and followed this route and calling it "novel" is right on the money. If you're in that area its well worth doing because it is definitely fun ,owing to its unusual character. A genuine chimney.

Comments: This is an excellent route but never could get up the nerve to lead it back in the day. Even in the summer the area under the roof can be wet...and slimy.

Comments: This route was my return to climbing after years of relative inactivity.I made a bad judgement about starting a little late in the day ,coupled with a slow and inexperienced partner, added to getting off -route on some slower-going 5.7 crack, all resulting in an overnight, unplanned biv on a ledge right before that last exposed slab pitch. I wanted to lead that pitch in the total dark but my partner was having none of it.(We stupidly forgot our headlamps)So there we sat on that exposed position fr... more >>

Comments: The walk-off descent goes to climbers right, left through a short split-boulder corridor and then a hard right down a long boulder gully.Stay on the left side of this gully until about mid-way then cross to the right when feasible. From there stay in the middle of the gully all the way down to the arroyo.Rapping into the Rock Garden only works if you haven't left anything at the base of the climb.

Comments: The cruxy traverse move at the start of P2 seems much easier if one is willing to stem wide. An excellent route, relatively sustained and very interesting the entire length.

Comments: Let relative beginners be forewarned that the rappel off the north side of Moosedog is not your typical straight-forward rap, and can be very intimidating to the uninitiated.

Comments: I thought the move around the corner was relatively easy but awkward and required a little thought. Without the bolt that move would require even more contemplation. Worth doing.

Comments: We belayed at the bolts and had no problem with rope drag,I intuitively knew to go about 6 ft up the crack before putting in a piece. All the protection at the traverse ,and immediately after, I extended with long slings.
I love this route and it has all the makings of a classic JT climb.

Comments: Like nearly everything else on the Weeping Wall this route is all about the correct foot sequence. The runout section makes one reconsider those sequences with a little more forethought and rehearsal.Great warm-up for 10K Gold.Taken together these two runouts make for a great day of face climbing.
