Comments: Oh what hell I fell into upon cleaning the lower traverse section. The choss that wouldn't end. But she cleaned up and what was left is one of the coolest 2-pitch sport routes ever. You have to get up in the cave.

Comments: Wow just saw all of this beautiful MP work by Andrew for the first time. EXCELLENT JOB! Quick note: if you want to check out that blog that he mentions, try this updated link: tumblr.com/search/goldenlandpr...
Because of how silly blogs are, you need to scroll all the way back to the beginning of the story, but it's worth it, I promise. Unfortunately, I believe they make you sign up for a Tumblr account in order to view the full blog. Those jerk faces. Anyway, I ... more >>

Comments: Replaced anchors and lowered the last running bolt on 4.4.15.
Lowering the last running bolt makes the finish less runout. You can now clip safely from a lower jug.
The route has cleaned up pretty well over the last couple of years. There is at least one more large(ish) hold that will break off soon. I hope to get back there and remove it before it does.
REMEMBER TO TOP ROPE ON YOUR OWN GEAR. AKA: Hang your own quickdraws from the new chains and run your top rope through those.

Comments: I replaced the exposed running bolt and anchors on 4.05.15. While the other running bolts show surface rust, they should be good to go for a while yet.

Comments: Like Isaac said, took er down this past Sunday. What a fun boulder problem!
This route is well worth the effort and more people should chime in. Go get on it!
I also have gotten the insider story from Josh Helke on the rating (12a is preposterous!) and hopefully he may choose to share that info. As far as I can tell, this rig is solid 13a.

Comments: Way to go beastoid.
We all gasped and groaned at the festival when the starting hold broke. Some cried. I growled but also guffawed.
But Kurt just stared. The Kurt stare. His gaze created it's own breeze. His abs tightened and almost tore from his body. He knew it would still go.
Apparently, it does.
This is the most "Sport Climb" of these new climbs. Fun fun fun.

Comments: May I add:
The value of this rock climb's location/position is very high. When I first lowered down over this rig to hopefully equip it, I was simply taken back by the exposure and grand nature of it. For the redpoint crux (coming out of high roof), you must let your feet cut loose, high up, pretty much exactly straight above that ragin beauty of a falls, let em rip free and GO FOR IT!
It is quite exhilarating. More peeps need to go send this thing!
CONGRATULATIONS to Ryan Cowell for taking car... more >>

Comments: I was honored to send this gorgeous and world class rig in August/Sept of 2011. Marianne came up with the name, "The Cathedral". I believe it comes in around 12c. Thanks to Jeff Engel for having the vision to make this line possible.

Comments: Well, another Red Wing classic suffers a brutal blow. You know the hard start, going to the big flake with a rad, right-hand gaston move? GONE. That flake is poof bam seeya outta here gone. I only saw it. Havent' tried the beginning since. Anyone?
New route!
