Comments: And was still there yesterday...

That anchor needs to go! It is unnecessary and sticks out like a sore thumb! I'm game unless the FA'ers step up and claim something (not sure that is possible on this one), aside from that, I will be more than happy to help remove them as well. PM me if/when you are thinking of going and doing it.

Comments: Yeah I guess I should just go bolt everything with-in 20mins of my house as well. I'm an artist of the rocks anyways, and I'm sure you'll find my grid bolted choss lines artistic!!! Plus hey, as long as it is convenient for me, then it's surely art for the rest of you. Sweet! There is so much rock with-in 20mins of my house too. It's to bad not everyone has the same mentality about route development as you guys. SLC would have the most routes in the country...Maybe world...

DONGS!! My guess i... more >>

Comments: Quote "Squeeze, yeah, but I feel it's an artistic line, It's also a 15 minute run from my house so I'm a bit more motivated to get the most out of the real estate. "

LAME!!! Boissal said it best, "Maybe it's time to accept the crag is climbed out."

Steve- Pull the crap or someone else will. Your squeeze job is BS and pointless you tacky grid bolter.

P.S. Artistic line?!? You have got to be kidding I hope...

Comments: "I think it should stay for now"

So how long is for now..? Until YOU get a 70m? Why does it need to stay if it's a visual nuisance? Either bring a second rope of buy a 70m. Should people who don't have trad racks add some fixed gear to cracks until they can get some gear?? Kind of the same mentality me thinks...

Comments: Safety First..? Sounds like you want convenience first Matt. What? Too lazy to put the 1 cam in your pack that you need for it..? Run it out if 1 cam is too heavy for you.. It's easy ground between 2-3. It's selfish thinking to add bolts. I know of many climbs/routes, that if you fall on them, you could die or be seriously injured. That's part of this sport Matt. Were you not told? And I don't believe it needs to be sanitized and made safe for you and others who aren't ready for the older school... more >>

Comments: I vote don't add any bolts!! Come on guys, it's plenty fine and safe how it was originally put up. Bring the cam or wait until you're better prepared to lead it...

Comments: SW, "High probability of decking between every bolt". Who is your belayer man..? Maybe you should get one you can trust! I don't think I have ever felt like I would deck on this route if I fell after the first bolt. But then again, I only try to use belayers I can trust. This is a great climb and should be done!

Comments: Great climb! Thought there was plenty of supplement gear placements to make this thing safe.
  • *GEAR ALERT**-the last bolt hanger is missing and the stud is sticking out. Pretty good gear all around it so wasn't a problem.

Comments: Hmmm... Well grades are subjective and relative. Though it's interesting that in 17 people who have suggested a grade for this route, you are the only one who thinks it's even close to 5.9, yet all the rest of us gave it at least 5.10 or higher.

Tyrel, you must be the slab dancing master then. Good job!! I've got a couple of EASY slabs in LCC you should come try and then downgrade them for us... They maybe rated hard, but I'm sure you'll find them to be much much easier.

Comments: HA HA you're funny Tyrel! Barely 5.9 eh... 5.10 in my book and pretty much any where in this country me thinks. Sure you were on the right route man? There are a couple of 5.9 slabs there as well. Bet those were what you were on..?

Comments: I remember being tempted to clip that bolt on 'Feeding Frenzy' but was told by my belayer below that it would be a "dab" if I did, and it wouldn't count... I agreed and skipped it. (Just in case you're thinking of using it...Bolts Off!)

Comments: Just a follow up to my above comment. After much consideration. I still feel that the new bolts must go. We need to protect our long standing heritage around these parts of bold climbing.. There is plenty of new and even older routes that are plenty safe for most around here.. It's ok to back away for another day. Don't be selfish and think, gull why didn't they (FA) add some more bolts for me and this route should be safe for me. It's no secret that we (climbers) are a selfish bunch. But let's ... more >>

Comments: My friends of the Wasatch. In light of some new information presented to me tonight. I ask that we should hold off removing anything from Via duck and Western grebe until all things are considered. I know what you're thinking.. WTF is he talking about?? Well I got in touch with who I believe is Peter Lenz this evening. And he shared some very interesting information with me. So out of respect, we need to considered somethings first before any action is taken (if it's not already too late). Even ... more >>

Comments: Wonder if the "Geezer" FA crew would be taking retaliation out like this, just because we didn't defend keeping the bolts next to cracks theory like they did..? Only a theory...So don't start getting your panties all in a bunch.

Comments: Guys, I think somebody is trying to F with us on purpose! We need to pull together as a community and figure out how to put a stop to this before this (these) loon does even more damage to who knows what.. This waiting around and just "chop" "chop" (which must be done) after the fact gets old and solves nothing.. We need to consider more reasonable, but drastic measures.
