Location: CO : Estes Park Valley : Big Thompson Canyon By: Travis Thompson When: Jan 8, 2006 | view comment >> | Comments: Hey, I was wondering a couple of things. Where can a person get a copy of the Gillett guidebook? My phone number is (970) 216-3883 or you could just post it here because there might be some other people wondering as well.
I also noticed that there is a couple of climbs just past "the Tube" on the left side straight across from the sign that talks about the bighorns. I just wondered if anyone knew who put them up or how hard they are?

Location: CO : Estes Park Valley : Big Thompson Canyon : Beige Tube Area / The Narro... : Between Shark's Fin Wall & ... : Mists of Mordor (5.9) By: Travis Thompson When: Jan 1, 2006 | view comment >> | Comments: Sorry that I used someones's wrong name when I listed Mists of Mordor. I thought that I had signed up on the "name list" before and that was my name. My friend Tim Meskel and I bolted it and he made the first ascent.
Allen is right you should pay attention going over the lip, however I weigh about 200 lbs and have never pulled anything loose when I didn't expect to, but Allen is right please do be careful.

They are located just after the tube on the left. There is a sign on the right in a little pull-out that talks about the Bighorn Sheep that were trans-planted there. The climb on the right looks like the bolts are good but I couldn't see an anchor? The climb on the left has some home-made hangers that could maybe be replaced but I think they are probably all right. If anything ... more >>

Location: CO : Estes Park Valley : Big Thompson Canyon : Beige Tube Area / The Narro... : Shark's Fin Wall : Stupid Igits (5.10) By: Travis Thompson When: Dec 28, 2005 | view comment >> | Comments: Hey, Allen, this is a pretty sweet climb. I like how you didn't put a bolt at that crack and left it for a stopper even though it's a small one. Sweet little climb, man!
