Location: UT : Wasatch Range : Rock Canyon : West Squaw Mountain : Snakehead By: Timmy Fearn When: Jun 19, 2012 | view comment >> | Comments: The approach is pretty rough! hahaha oh well, it would actually be fine if there was some steps put in to the gully trail but due to the fact that the area is so small I don't see that happening. I also thought the anchor bolts were put in an odd spot. They are good if you want to bring up the second to the ledge where the bolts are and then rappel to the west. One can walk right off along the top ridge line fairly easily as well, although it's exposed so if you are afraid of such things be ... more >>

Location: UT : Wasatch Range : Parley's Canyon By: Timmy Fearn When: Oct 2, 2011 | view comment >> | Comments: A group of friends and myself were climbing at Parleys canyon today, my friends car and the car next to ours were broken into. Something to be aware of. Whoever did it was moving quick and knew just what they were doing. This seems to happen disturbingly often, A reminder that it is best to leave your car empty while climbing anywhere in the wasatch front and you may consider leaving your windows open. I have heard a few stories of windows broken when the door wasn't even locked and nothing was... more >>

Location: UT : Wasatch Range : Little Cottonwood Canyon : Waterfront, The : Acapulco Arete (5.10b) By: Timmy Fearn When: Apr 2, 2007 | view comment >> | Comments: Good lead, I had an extra buddy give a spot, just to push me away from the abyss should I have fallen before the first bolt, but it's pretty easy to there. I wonder if some of those flakes have broken off on the wall to the right of the arete cause I was like 5.10b??? But maybe it was just sequential cause when I finally nailed it, I just cruised. That third bolt is way solid. I checked it many times before I knew what was up!

Location: UT : Wasatch Range : Little Cottonwood Canyon : Kermits Wall and Perhaps Ar... : Smitty's Wet Dream (5.9) By: Timmy Fearn When: Mar 18, 2007 | view comment >> | Comments: Hmm... I see... the route is a thin dihedral, I cruised the arete for most of the way thinking it seemed harder than 5.9 and wondering why there was a 30 foot runout above that bolt. Can't wait to try it again the right way. Good climb none the less!

Location: UT : Wasatch Range : Parley's Canyon : Iron Curtain Wall : Up In a Flash (5.8) By: Timmy Fearn When: Oct 12, 2006 | view comment >> | Comments: Did this last night in the lingering twilight. Cool thing about this area is that the street lamps from the Canyon highway illuminate the wall somewhat creating an orange surreal effect. And if you like that whole view of the city lights thing, Iron Curtain has a pretty cool angle of repose. A 70 meter rope reaches easily from the chains to the ground.
