Comments: One vote for good route. I can't wait to climb it when I'm not fat! The last pitch is gorgeous . Being put up on lead, it may provoke a thought or two while climbing . It reminds me of older routes on Lcc. Pretty rad Tyler drilled this rig on the sharpe end. Go climb this thing and throw a cheers to the fa party. At least two stars

Comments: I second the comment. It seems like more climbers are looking to rap than walk off. Rappelling the face should only be reserved for storms or bailing, not a standard method of descent.

Comments: Go buy two Home Depot 5 gallon buckets. Wrap Webbing around each bucket in lieu of the handles. Clip the first bucket to the first bolt and climb into the bucket. Stand up and clip the second bucket to the second bolt and climb into that bucket. Stand up and repeat process till you summit. Throw both buckets off the top and rap the route.

Get after it

Comments: The original descent is to rap back to the second webbing anchor on one 60 meter rope. This requires an easy pendulum. From there, two raps to the ground.
Three raps total with a single 60 meter rope.

Comments: Agreed. 5th pitch sucks. If I only had the strength for that roof! If not doing the roof, it's best to call it a day and rap from the top of the 4th.

Comments: Please DO NOT rap this route. We were rapped on while climbing the second pitch. Having people rappel over top of you while leading ice is not really fun. I have climbed this route about 10 times and always walked off the ccc trail to the north. Not hard to find if you are observant. A good old walk off is the way to go.

Comments: Glad you liked this area as much as I do. I was never a fan of waiting in line for routes, therefore I like to ditch away from the crowds in areas like this. Our goal was to put up enough routes that more than one party could climb there.

As of two weeks ago, there are a few of the suspect Austria Alpin knifeblades on this route. I didn't have a hammer nor anything to replace them with. The yare in an area that is heavily protected therefore I wouldn't worry too much. When I get the ch... more >>

Comments: This route is really clean. Some of the cleanest rock we've first ascended. Even the moss is good climbing!

However, we shall deliver massive amounts of choss in another canyon. As soon as Pete can make an approach that is not hellish, it may be the longest choss in the Wasatch!!!!
