Comments: Apparently it's turned into quite the spot for drug addicts. Goofed off there a few days while I was consulting at Meggit Safety Systems. Saw multiple people every day huddled in the cracks on the top, obviously hiding what they had and looking disheveled. Bummer too as the park's got some fun bouldering and views.

Comments: I don't know him, and only comment on the superficial side of things.
I have to admit, that it's peeked the curiousity of some myself and friends. For those that have been there, it is hard to imagine not finding someone in Eldorado Canyon. He would have to go significantly out of his way, and out of normal thought (up and over steep ridges rather than the no brainer of down to the river and follow it to the parking lot) to get somewhere where you can't find him. It just makes you wonder if s... more >>

Comments: How to get there:
First, decide that this rock looks like a great place to enjoy a day out with some less than experienced good friends (4 total). It's multipitch but not so many as to make you worry about running out of daylight; access seems easy enough. Bit of a hike, a few bits of poison ivy, but nothing difficult. And easy enough to relax and help your friends.
Second, print out the directions from Mountain Project, and a trail map from Rock Climbing Colorado figuring most of t... more >>

Any ideas on finding out what the status of the area is and when access is going to be reallowed?

Comments: Has anyone seen that access to Lincoln/Dem/Bross has actually been cut? I was actually going to run up them this weekend. This is definitely a shame. I'm fully in support of this bill! (I'm always in favor of making people to be responsible for themselves, and protecting people from stupid lawsuits)

Comments: Just checking with anyone that's been nearby the cliffs, does anyone know [whether] the cliffs were hit by the wildfire? Not at all, partially, hard?

Comments: Regarding the banana routes, hat's off to those that make the jump to the anchors.

For those that don't know there are three beautiful anchors on top of the banana. However, to get there you have to make a short jump from a downward sloping rock side to a fairly narrow top. Definitely doable, but not for the faint hearted.

Comments: A way to ease uncliping on the tree side is to clip a separate sling wherever you can when you get over and then step onto the sling to releave your weight off of the biner you're used to slide across.Another way to give newbies some added comfort is to give them an ascender (or two) and clip to the rope on a pulley rather than just hang on a biner, less friction.

Comments: I attempted this last weekend and retreated because we thought we were moving to slowly and started too late to avoid afternoon storms (which never came, and led us down a very dangerous retreat which I'll warn everyone about when I get back). We're going again this weekend and I was hoping to get some beta on the upper part of the route. We headed up the slabs (avoid the brown rock!) and followed the ridge/arete almost to the two big towers. Roach's description doesn't mention these and I wa... more >>

Comments: One more ? regarding the Northwest ridge route, one guide book says to use crampons and axe in the Slingshot Couloir, while another book just says go up it. I'd rather not bring the extra weight, anybody know the truth of the matter? (I'll put up a fully detailed description of the route once I do it and have the facts straight.)

Comments: GET THE BETA ON YOUR DECENT ROUTE or it's just a pain in the ass.

If you climb to the top of Wind Tower instead of taking the exit trail, do yourself a favor and take the time to get the beta on the decent (repell bolts) for your route!! We went half-hearted to the top thinking we'll just find our way down when we get there, everyone had told us that "they're there." We didn't immediately find a way down and thought we'd cruise down the slabs. It took us longer to get down than up. We did o... more >>

Comments: Do be very wary of Peter Hubbel's book regarding the Pine Area. As AC said, it can be largely inaccurate. i.e. On one map the Bucksnort Slab is on one side of the road, and on another map it's on the other. I've spent many frustrating hours trying to find areas that he has in his book. I felt much more at ease after I realized that he was probably drunk when he wrote it. It made much more sense then!

Comments: The first hanger is now spinning. Also, I noticed the bolts on this route have some sort of apoxy slathered on them. For my own education could someone explain this to me?

Comments: Is climbing available here anytime of the year or are there times it's too wet? (Basically, I want to go in a week and was determining if it was worth it) thanks....
