Comments: actually called State of the Artless. I did FA in late 80's I would guess. Todd McCormick almost had it but fell and suffered a compression fracture in his spine as a result.

Comments: Tom- from the first bolt, trend up and left to the belay. It is not hard. There are new bolts directly above the top of the flake which is a new line not in this database yet. It is kinda hard. There are also a couple bolts left of the flake which is a new-ish line between Sibling and Tadpole.

Comments: The CCC met its goal of raising $250,000!! LK is now owned by the CCC on behalf of climbers everywhere. Thanks to all who helped make this acquisition possible. As an aside, the CCC still has annual expenses such as insurance and property taxes for the cliff. Comes to around 3-4k per year. Donations are appreciated. More info can be obtained at www.carolinaclimbers.org.

Comments: Easiest route in the area. Fun beginner route. The bolt has been removed a few times, but now that the tree branch is no longer there to sling, it will hopefully remain in place at the start.

Comments: This is the last of the routes to ascend the formerly poison ivy choked wall right of Frosted Flake. A handful of us spent several days over the last few years excavating 5 decent routes and suffered the itchy consequences. This one will clean up nicely after a couple ascents and a couple rain storms. Look out for some stray loose stones on P2, it is still a tad crispy up there.

Comments: I do. Right of Sea Wolf. Done the route, but I have no idea what it is called or who put it up. Agree with the one star assessment.

Comments: Gus and Alvino were (are?) strong as can be. I remember them from the old days at Crowders Mt, NC. Drunk yahoos? Certainly. Darn good climbers? You better believe it. Nice guys as well. And no, those are not their real names.

Comments: Ed Williams, Shannon Millsaps and I went in there today in pretty iffy weather. In one of the finest displays of climbing I have ever witnessed, Shannon fired the coveted FFA on his first try since last year. Let's say it is 5.12.

Comments: Best to use double ropes and use one to get a high piece in Frosted Flake. Otherwise, a fall near the bolt often results in broken ankle.

Comments: David- the approach up to the roof is 5.10 and most of moves out the roof itself are not that hard; individually. The jams are pretty good, the pro is bomber and the fall is clean. Ed predicts it will be "only" 11+. Probably will go soon. We just haven't been back lately.
