Comments: The gear at the crux is not amazing but you can place a couple of pieces that seem adequate. I ended up placing a 000 C3 at one point.

Comments: From the top of Pebbles and Bambam climb up and left on some dirty rock past some bushes and trees to another set of chain anchors. From those anchors walk right and climb up a couple of 5.5 moves to find Siesta. There are a set of bolted anchors up and right from the top of the Siesta crack.

It's pretty soft for LCC 5.10a with only a couple of moves at the grade.

Comments: The approach is really straight forward, but there have been some trail changes so I thought an update would be appropriate.
-Take the trail at the northeast side of the parking lot.
-When you come to a "T" go left.
-Walk about 50 feet till you come to the first trail on the right. Follow this up to Bongeater.

Comments: Tiger Tower Apprach:
I did the grassy ledges approach on my first trip up this route and the tiger tower approach the second time. I will always do the tiger tower approach in the future. It only takes 15 minutes to walk up the gully with a couple of easy 5th class moves. There are a couple of loose spots, but it's much less sketchy than the descent or climbing the grassy ledges when wet. Then you do a couple of easy 5th class moves to make the summit of tiger tower (you could rope up... more >>

Comments: We used the topo on Summit Post (see the link on the first comment by Murf) and found it to be pretty good although it does leave out some detail that would be nice to have. We used a 70 meter rope and used both of the alternate belays on the topo. This allowed us to link the end of pitch 6 and all of pitch 7. We also would have liked to link pitch 9 and 10 as they were both quite short. Doing it this way would make the route 8 pitches instead of 10 and saves quite a bit of time.

Comments: There seem to be a lot of different info on this route so here's my two cents...

Protection: Single set of nuts, single set X4s from .1-.3 (or equivalent), single set of C4s from .4-#3 (or equivalent), 8 alpine draws. There weren't many options for gear after the first pitch and all the belays have chains so you really don't need much gear. If you are nervous about the crack you could bring a few more pieces.

Ascent: All of the belays have chains so that's what you're looking for.
-Pit... more >>

Comments: I found the approach to be quite straightforward though I was worried about getting lost because of the numerous route descriptions. When I hiked up (August 2015) there were two cairns on the left side of the trail which were spaced about 5 feet apart and marked either side of the path where you depart the stream bed and start hiking up the steep slope. About 50 feet after the double cairns I came to a single cairn where you take another left and keep heading up hill on a narrow trail till you... more >>

Comments: I'm kzoo's partner... I don't know if I'd solo or simul-climb the entire route but certainly from the saddle to the first tower pitch and certain sections of the rest of the route are easy enough without a rope.

Comments: What a great pitch! The formation is super easy to find as it's visible and obvious from the two track road as you walk in.
