| Our descent ridge from the Dais Couloir. There were steep couloirs to the right and we could only see the glacier several thousand feet down on the left. This photo is shows the direction we came fro | Scott Thalacker : NOLS Waddington Range | | Nov 14, 2008 |

| The rock section at the top of the Dais Couloir. It's steeper than it looks in the photo. | Scott Thalacker : NOLS Waddington Range | | Nov 14, 2008 |
| The Dais Couloir from just below. We ascended just to the climber's right (in the snow as much as possible) of the two rocky humps on the climber's left. Conditions weren't great (crust over sugar), | Scott Thalacker : NOLS Waddington Range | | Nov 14, 2008 |

Location: WI : Black River Falls : SE Point By: Scott Thalacker When: Apr 14, 2012 | view comment >> | Comments: For the desperate: Led two climbs on the SE point today. About 5.6, protected ok. The area we climbed was the lighter colored slabby rock South of the overhanging area. Pretty good rock. We also TR'd the overhang. The overhang has one pin and one rusty bolt with SMC hanger.

Location: SD : Custer State Park : Tenpins/Switchbacks : Phallus By: Scott Thalacker When: Jul 15, 2011 | view comment >> | Comments: Climb chimney farthest from Cathedral Spires parking lot (could get a #4 or 5?) up left to big flakes/horns, belay there, then down and left to seam/crack protected with nuts and pins, then up to summit. One rope descent. There is a bolt on this one and rappel anchors. Very fun.

I couldn't help but post to be part of this debacle! We have a Nietzschean advocating tolerance! Christians who preach the Law, not the Gospel! Chippers who chop! I don't know any of you! I've climbed at the stronghold two times (trade routes)! Both amazing adventures! I'd rather see access (to an area that is not local for me) totally gone than purported abominations put up. Not that I will ever be able to climb them either way! Chop on! ps. - I'm a pastor an... more >>

Location: WI : Black River Falls By: Scott Thalacker When: Apr 8, 2011 | view comment >> | Comments: On the condition report, I went out earlier this week. Not as muddy as I'd thought it would be. There are human made things attached to the rock on the overlook area. For example, giant staircases and a metal platform, among other things. Anybody know who is responsible for these? PM me? We should be careful about this...

Do not waste time climbing it unless you want cool pictures of yourself pulling an overhang.
