Comments: Hi Morgan! There is also a cool little crag up Green Mtn. Dr. off of E. Rocks Rd. It's on the right and pretty obvious. This street got a bunch of houses built on it since I used to go there, which was a long time ago, so it may be not be so sweet now. But then again I used to be able to hide behind the foliage. There is also a crag right across from where I grew up at 44 Adams Ave. Again, it's since been sqeezed by houses...Oh to be a teenaged trespasser again.

Comments: Yes we parked at the school and crossed the bridge. It was pretty funny because we were looking at each other saying something like "I wonder whose car alarm that is?" When we got back the rear of our borrowed SUV was up and wide open although the car was otherwise undisturbed. I mistakenly unlocked the car instead of locking it. Still, a great and unexpected cragging session in our home state. We'll be back!

Comments: First time cragging at West Rock this week and first time sport climbing in CT! Great winter sun trap and great rock. Someone did try to get into our vehicle and set off the alarm so be aware. I have to say that it felt really strange to be clipping bolts in New Haven.

Comments: I fixed a z-pin on this section in the late 80's. Is it still there? Great shot!

Comments: I wore holes through my skin at my chest and elbow, through my long sleeved shirt (the shirt did not rip). Just the friction of the shirt on my skin! Of course I didn't feel anything until I topped out. I thought that if I ever did this thing again, I'd stick a large square of moleskin on the two spots, but this is probably aid....

Comments: I lived in Sennen for a summer working as a climbing guide and did lots of cool routes and some first ascents, including that flake that forms the highest part of the arete to the climber's left. It's called the Rockhopper (E3 or E4)in honor of my bike that was stolen from Pendeen near Bosigran...

Cornwall has some wild climbing, especially Great Zawn and Gurnard's Head. Watch out for the waves!

Comments: I remember that pulling the top roof was always a bit of a dirt crux..otherwise this is a great pitch. Good gear in roof itself right next to the pin(if it's still there). This was good training for Foops when you could still climb it. Last time we did it (about 15 years ago)there was a bat living in a crack near the lower overhang. What's up with the graffiti?

Comments: We continued to the top of Shark'stooth...beautiful, warm March day (three years ago?). But, I forgot to drink during the route and really paid for it on the way out.

Comments: cable car ride back down sugarloaf still free as of summer 2010. after 7pm you can ride all the way down to the parking lot. before 7pm you have to get off at the morro da urca and hike the rest of the way.

here's a perfect day: climb a route on the sugarloaf, have a cocktail or beer and some food on top while you check the sunset, ride the cable car back down! Issa!!

Comments: This is the best movie I've ever seen about climbers. It also takes place in one of the most beautiful cragging areas I've ever seen. We spent a month there a few years ago after meeting some Czech climbers in Mexico. When I told them that I'd long dreamed of visiting Bohemia to climb on the sandstone they said, "You should come since it's cheaper than Mexico!" Well, it's true and the climbing at Teplice, the Adrpach, and Prachov is truly amazing. (Running out of Superlatives!) Every route asce... more >>
