Comments: Not to be confused with THE Suicide Rocks of Idyllwild, CA. Probably not much chance of that (see photo).

Comments: I have to second (and third) the above comments. Maybe the route description should be revised...? I think the route is not complete until you have done the 3rd pitch, then after that, you might as well top-out (not even sure retreat is possible, w/out leaving gear anyway). This is a classic route, and bailing after the 2nd pitch is not really "completing" it, imo.

Comments: This thing looks pretty cool. I may have to check it out this weekend. If so, I'll reply with my 2 cents... Nice work and thanks for sharing!

Comments: Cool photo! This angle is not as often seen as the deservedly popular photo-op from the Witch. It's really cool to see such a good view of Wailing Banshees (crack/dihedral to flakes on left), as you can't see it at all from directly beneath it on the ground.

Comments: Wow this place looks incredible! What is the "typical" climbing season? Is there anywhere (guidebook or otherwise) I can get some more detailed route info? I'm fairly new to the area, and I wouldn't be opposed to anyone sending me a topo if there are any floating around...

Comments: I'm not too sure about the grade on this one. I've seen it on 8a scorecards as V7, but that seems inflated (maybe due to the 8spray--er 8a origin). Maybe V7 is fair if you're short. I heard Bachar originally said 5.11 but that's quite a sandbag. It seemed 6ish to me, but it's all relative...

Comments: I found this route to be quite nice, but felt it was definitely easier and less runout than Sheep Trail, fyi.

Comments: I must say I did this route yesterday and completely forgot my rack of C4's but had TCU's from 00-4 and stoppers. As per Darell's beta above, I was able to safely protect P1 with just that gear. AND, I could fit both red and orange TCU's into the flake he mentioned for extra assurance on the lieback. I'm glad I had read his note prior to forgetting my larger gear, otherwise I probably would have waited to do this route.

Comments: I guess this is a bit more updated beta, but I definitely didn't see a threaded chockstone, much less any chockstone at all. FYI.

Comments: True, you need 6 draws and some stuff for the anchor as the description says, but I wouldn't call this a "sport route." Not by modern standards, anyway. That being said it isn't unsafe and I would highly recommend this 'bolted face climb' as it is an area classic on amazing stone!

Comments: Balanced Rock looks cool. What's the deal with it? Is it open? Are there routes on it? I am unfamiliar with the area...

Comments: I had a blast here this past weekend. It was my first trip to the area. With loads of moderates, my fiancee was kept happy as well. While we were roped up the whole time, one thing I noticed in particular, was the nearly unlimited and untapped potential for bouldering here. I saw 1000's of boulders, less than 1% of them with developed problems. If someone were motivated to explore and do some minimal cleaning of the boulders this could be a HUGE bouldering area, with lots of quality rock. ... more >>

Comments: You should! It's the best moderate route I've done at Table Rock. If you're up for it I would also highly recommend Waste a Bit, its more difficult neighbor immediately to the left; also very fun/high quality for Table Rock.
