Comments: DO NOT walk down the gravel service road past the "No Trespassing" signage! If the rangers keep seeing climbers going up there, they will definitely monitor it more. Instead, park at the far south end of the southern parking lot and take the very small overgrown utility/forest road from the southwest end of the southern parking lot (it's on the uphill side of the parking lot), and be quick. From the parking lot, it's about a 100-foot walk into the brush and trees to where the rangers can't see. ... more >>

Comments: I'm also not sure where the 5.11 grade came from. This thing is nails hard! I would say that it's a solid mid-grade 5.12 - but a fantastic one! Definitely worth doing if you're looking for something very technical.

Comments: If you can climb the grade, this one shouldn't be missed! There are several different ways to do the crux depending on your height. The top 2/3's definitely involves a little bit of enduro and refined technique. Overall: this is the king line of the crag and a SOLID 13a! Enough said!

Comments: It's cliche, but this route has it all: techy face, some overhang, some patina, a no-hands, sit down rest a third of the way up, and an excellent slab finale at the end. This really is another absolute classic in the canyon.

Comments: This route would be perfect without the series of sharp, detached blocks towards the top. Has anyone tried removing the bottom one?

Comments: Hard to read crux, should be easier with a little chalk on the holds. Actually quite fun when figure it out. Top is definitely a little sharp for my liking. Overall, once you figure out what NOT to grab, not a bad route.

Comments: You can TR the route with a 60 if you...
1. extend the anchors with slings below the lip to reduce rope drag.
2. have the belayer scramble ten feet up the 4th class slab on the left of the climb when lowering.
3. tie a knot in the end of your rope.
4. are psyched you have just or are about to climb an awesome route!

Still have to rap off the back after cleaning though.

Comments: Definitly take singles of the micro pro. This desert rock eats it up. Definitly used the 00 (and even 000 from what I remember) on P1 and P2.

Comments: Used one .3 above the third bolt and no gear after that (not really needed anywhere else). Some of the bolts would definitely benefit from an upgrade. Perhaps a little overall cleaning too? Overall though, fun route!

Comments: This is a great climb that would really benefit from a change of location of the anchors. A MUCH better spot for them would be about five to ten feet lower beneath the lip of cliff. Then you wouldn't have to worry about rapping off of the rats nest of sun-bleached tat. Other than that, this climb was great! No gear needed.

Comments: This is a sport route that has absolutely no need for any gear other than quickdraws. All runouts are on super easy terrain. Great route though. Great exposure and climbing on pitch 3!
