Comments: Take the stone path up to the Hobo Castle, then continue north about 20 yards. The boulder is about 10-20 ft down the hill and can be easily spotted because of the eyeball with teardrop painted on its face.

Comments: I had a conversation with a person from the City of GJ Parks Department responsible for taking care of this area this afternoon. I expressed concerns about losing climbing in this area, and he assured me that only the rock that is on private property will be closed unless we can negotiate access with the landowner. At this time, the property is still being developed, but if you know someone climber friendly that might be interested in buying the property, it could be the only way we ever regain ... more >>

Comments: It is unfortunate that we lost these climbs, they were great beginner climbs with easy access. The WCCC has been looking into this and all of the research shows that the golf course has always owned this area. They just didn't know or didn't mind us climbing there until now. The property has been sold to developers, and the WCCC hopes to negotiate access to this section of rock at some point in the future. For now, the only area that appears to be affected are the rope climbs in the Bullet Hole ... more >>

Comments: Robert and I put up a second pitch on this route a couple of years ago, it goes at around 5.8/5.9 and has not been cleaned. There is a bolted anchor with rap ring, but other than that, it has no bolts but probably needs them. I think the third pitch will go, but it would be significantly harder, I think. We lost interest after the second pitch, but if someone was psyched on continuing the route to the top, they could message me for beta. The second pitch is adventure climbing, don't do it unless... more >>

Comments: Thank you for your comment, David. I tried to clean as much of the loose rock from the route as I could. There was a lot to clean, so I probably missed some stuff. I did leave that big rock at the anchors there because I tried to pry it loose and it wouldn't move. It makes me nerves as well, but it seemed pretty stable at the time I put the route up. It might have to go at some point. As for the cactus, there is a lot of it, but there was a nice little clearing to stand and set up your anchor, s... more >>
