Comments: Another climb with open moves which feel 10+ - greasy and maybe missing something?

Comments: Second only lead ever, easily protectable (small cams bottom and top of crack) and fun. Eschar 5.4 (my first and not a good beginner lead) made this feel breezy even for an easy moderate.

Comments: Not a great first lead if my opinion is worth anything. Flaring crack feels really uncomfortable for hand jams (lacking technique I know - as most noobs are), and almost big enough for arms. Just not very secure feeling for beginner lead. Also, the opening move to get up to the ledge is unprotected and awkward.

Comments: Greasy start maybe or I missed something. As far as I can tell it's a boulder problem last 5.10+ move to start this. Tell me if I'm wrong. Typical. A 5.8 in JT that's humbling.

Comments: Maybe it was just me, but the heel hook is where the climb gets its grade. The rest didn't feel tough at all and I'm not a 5.10 climber by a long stretch.

Comments: Maybe it was just me and the guys with me, but the opening move/crux on this was tough for the grade. Who am I to say though as a total noob?

Comments: Climbed this about 8 years ago (one my first ever) and agreed completely with all the comments about it being sandbagged, wretched, etc. Climbing it again the other day for the second time and staying IN the crack, I would say it's not bad at all. I was climbing with someone with far more upper body strength than me who decided laybacking was the way to go (even though I told him it was tough and he loves laybacking) and he found it to not be particularly enjoyable. Stay in the crack if you're p... more >>

Comments: Loose bolts as of 4/3/16. Didn't have a wrench on hand to tighten. Probably a good idea to have one. If these are Rawl 5 piece (the newer Powers models) then not over torquing could be extremely important. 10-12 ft lbs instead of 22+. Any idea Locker?

Comments: There's solid bolts and rings on this. Wish more people would note this for the total noobs like me wondering ;)

Comments: A Royal Robbins 5.7, so do the math. Not an easy 5.7 unless you have the upper body strength to pound through the laybacking. Challenging climb. Definitely recommended but closer to 5.8 or 9 for newb leaders
