Obcessive climber in GA, CO and WY in late 70's and early 80's with many 5.10(and ++)(uncredited) first ascents at the Boat Rock Boulder Field, Atlanta, GA and Fremont/The Dome, Wyoming. First ascents in winters of 79 and 80 of nearly all multi-pitch ice routes of Wind River, Tensleep and Shell Canyon, WY.
To escape the crowded crags, arguments concerning "style" and developing day-glow fashions, paddled away from climbing in 81 to focus on multi-day, mostly whitewater, river adventures of the U.S.
Now returning in 2002 to climbing, pleasantly surprised to find that the "chess" puzzles mind-climbs of Eldorado Canyon/Flatirons (relatively) almost unused. Finding such, hopes to play again on his favorite 5.10 and 5.11's, although sporting 40 more lbs and at nearly 50 years. |
