Comments: If you climb just to the left of the last two bolts, there are good holds and a big jug that allows you to reach out right and easily clip the anchors.

Comments: With a hand jam or two this route seems easier than 5.7

Comments: I thought this route was as fun as its neighbor to the left. Even though the guidebook gives it a poor rating and considers it a squeeze job, it was apparently bolted before Bodhisattva.

Comments: I remember doing the Dolphin with John Marinovich in 1986. We were just starting to lead and could only afford a few pieces of gear. I think we only had about 10 pieces between us and none were cams. The biggest thing we had was a #10 Liberty Hex. We bought and strung the Liberty's because they were cheap compared to Chouinards. John has a pair of EB's and I was wearing first generation five tennies that I had shoe gooed the toes of to work better in cracks. Of the 10 pieces of gear, only ... more >>

Comments: This route was originally named "No Time" because you have no time to to mess around trying to find the right pieces or you will pump off!

Comments: I remember this having 5 bolts and being rated 10c back in the late 80's-early 90's. I think I was getting sandbagged by the locals!

Comments: When I did this in the early 90's it was rated 11a. I thought it was pretty damn pumpy for 11a. Now I know why.

Comments: The 20+ year old Rawl 5 piece bolts have recently been replaced with camo'd stainless glue-ins. This is now the premium lead route at Moonstone and a very worthy tick.

Comments: This is the route just right of Espresso. The draw that is hanging is on the start of Espresso. The start of Espresso and this route are very close together. The route actually works right from here and then back left onto the main formation that Espresso is on. Any one know the name? From Art's description it appeared to be "Should Be Called Do What".

Comments: The Holladay-Hatfield is still there, although the hangerless bolts have been looking pretty bad for 15 years. The trees and shrubs seem to have overtaken the route.

Comments: The Heel Hook problem is now vastly different. A large part of the roof has dropped off the cliff. There is another widowmaker block, with fractures all the way around it, that looks ready to cut loose. CLIMB WITH CAUTION!
