Comments: Can lead this and the crux protects really well

Comments: Guy. T. B., I lead this awhile ago, however, I stayed to the right since the left side of the slab is pretty mossy. Led hair dresser today (route to the right) and they felt very similar (minus the beginning). You can place gear behind some flakes (don't remember what size) but it sounds hollow and will probably break off with a fall from above. Unless you're comfortable with runout, I would recommend TR.

Comments: Awesome... Feels harder than the 5.6s in Swan Slab so I'll say a .7 .... pretty solid if you stay in the crack or use the couple face features. kinda have to be creative and if you're not sure, keep using the crack. I know I did an awkward but easy "lieback" move or two down low. Smeared maybe one time low and once up high.

Comments: Can also sling the chockstone higher up and use as a directional... seemed pretty solid (I know i used a double runner, but I can't remember if I had to extend it a little further with a single.

Comments: People were TR Grant's crack, so I didn't bother heading up to the tree. I was able to put in two #1 C4s and one #3 after digging out a crack near the old bolts (I believe left of the crack mentioned by the previous poster). I would recommended belaying from the blocks as mentioned by another poster and then continuing up Bay Tree Crack! Walk off to penthouse cracks and rappel, or in our case rappel off the tree :/ (people were TR penthouse cracks and we didn't feel comfortable with ... more >>

Comments: Glad I'm not the only one that though so. That mantle is about 5-6 feet above the last bolt once you've committed, so as the wise man once said, "Don't fall!"

Comments: Looking at the picture which shows the sharp Left turn after the first crack.... if you continue straight up the crack it makes for a fun variation... Toproped with a directional from the bolt on the top (can't see it unless you follow the route in the picture). With the directional you'll swing a little down low, but it's easier climbing... up high maybe a 5.8/9ish? move to "summit". If you want to lead, you can place gear down low to protect the easier climbing but not sure about the crux. Che... more >>

Comments: Used 6 or 7 slings to girth hitch handles (didn't trust some of 'em), 2 being double length, and a #.3 BD C4 about 20 feet or so from the start (probably could've used at least 2 more doubles to prevent rope drag)... One bolt on top, which I backed up with 50' of static line to a tree just behind the rock..... didn't see any other bolts out there except about 10 feet to the left which I wasn't ballsy enough to walk across the "ridge".

Comments: A #3 BD C4 (#2 may have been slightly better) fits in a hueco/pocket nicely near where the first bolt USED to be (as illustrated in Thornburg's guide)
