Comments: Steve,I salute your jakness you are a true unsung hero of Devils Lake and beyond. This has been a wierd week for me.After spending the summer and fall hospitalized or recovering I made it up to DL for a short hike around the lake. The first thing that caught my I was the old tree on the south shore that you always parked your orange Fiat under. After my hike I went and visited with Pete C. the first time in many years. Then a few days later Billy Russell called and we talked of the old days.I agree... more >>

Comments: Say it dont spray it.If it is better for you in CO why do you keep spraying about this stupid little route. Was it hard to find a rope long enough to toprope in CO?Like I said in my last post you can have the first ascent just stay out of my life forever.

Comments: I did this route before you where even coming to the lake with Dave Salsbury. But if it keeps you in CO you can claim the first ascent of this massive 30 foot route.I think one of the new breed of DL climbers who are not afraid to lead hard routes should lead it or think of it as a boulder problem.

Comments: Barry soloed No Trump not this route. No trump is a short but fun little problem left of asleep.Still a inspired performance by Barry, considering if you come of the moves you are going to be hammered into boulders at the base.It is great to see a all around climber like Barry do this then go climb Everest and attempt the North ridge of Latok.

Comments: If I were to summarize Mr. Alex A's petty fibs I'd need only one word: inhumane. To get right down to it, we have a choice. Either we let ourselves be led like lambs to the slaughter by Alex and his hatchet men or we evaluate the tactics Alex has used against me. While I don't expect you to have much trouble making up your mind you should nevertheless consider that I am thoroughly shocked and angered by Alex's hidebound improprieties. Such shameful conduct should never be repeated. I happen to b... more >>

Comments: Nice job! I dont know if it has been led or soloed.I thnik it may be a first. How about Fibula crack or new light waves for leads.I looked at them a long time ago and might be worth checking out.Just be careful. The ground is always one bad placement away.I am psyched to see the DL legacy of hard leading being continued.

Comments: Jesus John Yaworsky get over it. You should just be lucky you did not show up the day I was discharging the .357 magnum. That would of given you something to really get all caught up in a hissy fit about. I miss the time we spent together at Glencoe. You where a real nice guy to climb with.

Comments: It is the crosstown triple direct. You start on Crosstown do the center of LSD and finish on Thoroughfare.Note the 2 inch swami and the chalkbag my Mom quilted and sewed for me, it easily carries 2 endo blocks and you can also use it for forced bivies.

Comments: 1st ascent rich bechler and dale moir. Named after the liquid we consumed on the middle ledge. This was the 1st route we did after finding the crag way back in the day.We started exploring from the end opposite of the y crack wall and almost crapped are pants after getting to the crown jewel of the y crack wall! Also we did a route just to the right of Ten High called Blinded by lust.Which is 5.11+ and named after a certain redheaded girl that Steve,Andy, myself, the US Navy and countless others wh... more >>

Comments: I did the first ascent. Dave helped to clean and bolt for me. The face was covered in lichen like a deer's antler. I pulled off a block which weighed about 30 pounds which stuck in the ground about 10 inches. The block came very closer to impaling my dog and my wife to be Liese. One day while we where working on it Dave was up top taking down gear. All off a sudden I heard a bunch of thrashing and screaming. Then Dave yells a snake at which time I seen a green form coming down the wall and about... more >>

Comments: Steve I think Eli may have died of cancer a few years back. Remember when she would place freinds with the threaded axle and not the cams. Or that she would not buy swiss cheese because she thought she was getting ripped off because it had holes in it. Do you know waht happened to Cows in Space? I salute your jak-nes!

Comments: I once fell off this route while soloing it. I was well above the crux when a pebble broke and landed poorly. I thought I broke my ankle among other injuries. So I thought it would be best to have Pete check me out. Pete looked at my injuries and gave me the sound medical advise of( dont worry Rich the body will heal itself!
