Comments: Hey there! Nate and I went on May 16, 2013 and it was a perfect day of climbing. We swap leads. This is my 1st time climbing this route and I loved it! Here's some of the videos that of each pitch. Sorry for the shakyness. Nate finished the 1 bolt slab finish w/c is also my 1st time topping off on that route! I usually prefer the 5.6 fingertip lieback!

Comments: Busy day on the route. My partner and I opted a different start for the first two pitches. I led the first two pitches. Barry led the rest and finished on the roof section. Loved this route!!!

Comments: Love this route. Did it again on 7.10.12 w/ a buddy that has never been to Tahquitz. Finished the last pitch with the fingertip lieback section. Fist time me leading that section. Love it!!! Super fun day!

Comments: In response to lifeblack. I pick and choose routes that I am aware of how the rope will be laying on the rock during my climbs. Yes, I pay attention to the rocks surface when creating my anchor up top and how I will be climbing. I have made modifications on my TR rig as well. So, as of right now I pick and choose climbs that I am familiar with. Honestly I got the TR rig as I prefer climbing outdoors. Do not have gym membership. Thanks::ROCKY :)

Comments: Hi Adam,

I use two mini traxion. One on the belay loop and one on a chest sling. I use my back pack to weigh the rope at the end. It is tough to find partners during the week, so I started looking into TR solo. When I am able to find a route that I can access from above and set the TR, I can work on my breathing and footwork. It's so much fun! :)

Comments: I think I did this about 8 months ago. It was a fun lead. A couple bolts a the start of the 1st pitch. The chimney area was a fun section to place gears. Fun route!

Comments: Led it on 5.22.12. I agree w/ Marc about placing good pro prior to the crux. I added a few more pros before placing a knee bar. I look forward to leading it again...clean! So much fun!!

Comments: Was there a month ago. Fun lead! Yes, the 1st 5 ft can be strenuous for a new leader such as myself on placements. Had a great climbing partner/teacher too!! It helped a lot! Overall a great route!

Comments: TR'd. Fun route. Definitely need a 70M rope if the belayer belays on the 1st ledge. 60M will do if the belayer belays on the upper ledge just below the beginning of the route. Love the move to the orange face climb where there's 2 bolts. Build an anchor up top for TR'ng. When using TR, run the rope to the last bolt w/ a quick draw for back up.

Comments: I thought I was ready to lead it. TR'ng this route and figuring out my sequence. Definitely thin, edgy and balancy. Not my strong points. Will continue to work on it :)

Comments: Nice short fun crack climb. Yep it is dirty up top. Remember to wear helmet on this particular route as there are so many loose rocks up on the ledge of the route.

Comments: TR'd. I love the beginning of this route. Finding little edges for my feet and balancing my body to move to the left side of the rock. I did not think I could figure out my own little sequence as I thought I may be too short for this climb! I am so glad I took the time to really look for the little footholds and finger crimps. Definitely worth doing if there's already a top rope on The Owl.
